CHIEF'S PREFACE
The publication of the following Town of Harford Police Department’s Standard Operating Procedures is part of our belief in governmental transparency. It’s through this belief that we build upon the foundation of trust placed upon us by not just the citizens of the Town of Hartford, but by every citizen of our beloved Republic that will pass through our beautiful town.
Police agencies are often judged upon the actions of individual officers. Much of the success of law enforcement agencies depend on the manner in which the officer’s duty is performed.
These procedures are a guide that is established to ensure professional standards are observed and maintained by officers, on duty and off. While certain terms may be different, you will find many similar policies in most law enforcement agencies throughout our state and our Nation.
