Town of Hartford Planning Commission

 

To be published as a Class II legal notice on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be conducted by the Town of Hartford Planning Commission on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Town of Hartford Town Hall, 3360 CTH K, Hartford, WI 53027, to consider comprehensive amendments to the Town of Hartford Zoning Ordinance, including comprehensive updates to the Town’s Official Zoning Map.

 

The proposed amendments would update and modernize the Town’s zoning regulations, including the reorganization and clarification of zoning district standards; the addition of updated agricultural zoning districts corresponding to the Farmland Preservation land use designations; revisions to permitted and conditional uses; updated development and performance standards; and related procedural updates. The amendments also include the creation of new Wetland Overlay and Environmental Corridor Overlay zoning districts, as recommended in the Town’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan, to better protect mapped wetlands, floodplains, and other natural resources.

 

The proposal further includes a comprehensive update to the Official Zoning Map to ensure consistency with the Town’s Land Use Plan, including the adoption of the new overlay zoning districts, the adoption of Farmland Preservation zoning districts where applicable, and other modifications needed to align zoning designations with the updated Future Land Use Map.

During the public hearing, the public is invited to speak on the proposed amendments. Written comments may be submitted to the Town Clerk until 5:00 p.m. on December 4, 2025, and will be made part of the record. The public hearing shall be closed when all interested parties in attendance have had an opportunity to offer comment.

 

Following the close of the public hearing, the Town of Hartford Planning Commission will convene its regular meeting and consider recommending adoption of the proposed amendments to the Town Board.
